It's a great school for college readiness and gifted kids who need to learn what 'challenge' is. But be aware that it will mean 4-5 hours of homework nightly, on top of sports. Please include your kids' opinion on going to the school, because if they aren't prepared to push themselves that hard, it will take a huge toll on their mental health and their grades could tank. The community is great for students who are rather intellectual, as most kids WANT to talk about their opinions on coursework and their studies, but for athletic-focused kids, it might not be a great fit unless they're interested in track and field, as sport opportunities are limited and smaller communities.

I went to D'Evelyn for 6 years and just recently graduated. It's a small school but has a great community, and if you can handle the academic workload it's definitely worth it.

As a student of D'Evelyn, I Can say D'Evelyn has been a great place for me. I went into 7th grade not knowing anyone but over the years have made many new friends. In additon, I love the passionate teachers we have that truly care about the subjects they teach and hold each student to high standards. This makes D'Evelyn a vigorous and challenging place at times but I believe that I am more prepared for college because of this school. Through the course of attending school here, I have learned so much about myself, how I learn best and how to stay organized to keep me being successful.
